Tree by the River

There are some very dry areas on Earth. Some of these very dry areas are called deserts. It hardly ever rains in the desert. Very little can grow or live in the desert.

When it does happen to rain, all the plants will grow and get green. When it doesn't rain, the plants will wither and get brown. The trees will bloom and grow fruit when it rains. But when it doesn't rain, the trees cannot produce fruit.

Sometimes there is a river that runs through the desert. The ground close to the river can grow many plants. Animals and men from all over the desert will come to the river to drink. Life is abundant next to the river. The trees will always be able to bloom and produce fruit. But don't go very far from the river or you will see the withered trees.

God says that you are like the trees in a spiritual way. If you want to be a very strong and green tree with much fruit, you must trust Him and obey him.

"Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of the drought, neither shall cease from yeilding fruit." Jeremiah 17:7-8.

Do you want to be a Tree by the River? Then study the Bible and obey what it says. You must learn what God wants you to do. And you must love studying about and obeying God.

"But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper." Psalm 1:2-3.
