Don't Play in the Street

Almost every child, no matter where they live, has been told by a parent, "do not play in the street". It does not matter if you live in a big city or a small city. It does not matter if you live in Africa or the United States.

Your parents love you and care about what happens to you. They know that you may not see danger coming. They know that you may be having so much fun playing in the street that you would not see a truck or car coming. And even if you did, it might be too late for you to get out of the way. The truck or car could hit you. You could be hurt very badly or even killed.

God loves and cares about every person on earth. He has also told us not to play in the street. But God means the we should not play in Satan's street. We may think that Satan's street is fun to play in. But before we could do anything to save ourselves, something will come along and hurt us very badly, or even kill us.

David said that "by the words of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer". David was referring to God's lips. The words of warning to stay out of the destroyer's(Satan) street came from God the heavenly Father. The only way to know which street to stay out of is by reading God's word, the Bible.
