Wisdom's Corner
BODY OR BODIES??Last time we spoke about the body needing only one head but at least one head. This time we want to consider the body.
Have you ever seen just a head walking down the street? You say of course not. Even if the head could survive it sure could not go anywhere without a body. It would just be able to sit in one place. The head might have all kinds of ideas about work to do but would never get anything done because it did not have a body to do the work.
Well, have you ever seen a head with two bodies? You might have seen a head with a body that was wrong. The body might have three arms or three legs. But you will never see a head with two bodies.
But imagine that it was possible. The head would be confused. It might want to go somewhere but could not get both bodies to move at the same time or in the same direction. This would be very confusing.
God made us to be just right with one head and one body. And he made the church the same way. We read last time that Jesus Christ is the one head. And we also know from reading Colossians 1:12-18 that there is one body. And that body is the church. There are not many bodies, only one.
It is up to us to make sure that we are a part of the one body. The only way to do this is to study God's word, the Bible.
Until next time, keep reading your Bible. And if any of this is hard to understand, ask an adult to help you.
