Wisdom's Corner
Will He Pluck Your Feet?During the time of the Old Testament people many times hunted with nets. They had several ways of setting up a net and disguising it so that an animal would not see it until it was too late. The disguise many times used food that the animal liked. This way the animal would come into the trap thinking it would get something good to eat. A man might also try sneaking up on birds and then casting a net into the air over them hoping to catch some.
The nets were designed so that the animals would get their feet tangled up in them. This way the animal could not get loose and run away. Once the animals feet were tangled up the animal was caught for good.
Satan has a spiritual net. He tempts man to sin in any way he can. Satan will make something look very good. We will get too close and then he has us trapped in his net of sin.
But God can get us out of the net. He will show us how to get our spiritual feet out of Satan's net. Psalm 25:15, "Mine eyes are ever toward the Lord; for he shall pluck by feet out of the net."
We have to keep our eyes on God. We do this by always studying His word, the Bible. By reading the Bible we learn how to get out of Satan's net of sin. God does not want us to get trapped. He does not want Satan to catch us and keep us in his trap.
So until next time, keep reading your Bible. And if any of this is hard to understand, ask an adult to help you.
