Wisdom's Corner
You Must ExerciseExercise is very important. God made your muscles to need exercise. Exercise makes your muscles grow. It gives them the ability to endure more exercise and work. It keeps them healthy.
When you exercise your muscles have to work. The blood vessels in and around the muscle get bigger so that more blood can pump in and from the muscle. By getting more blood the muscle gets more oxygen and nutrients (food) it needs. And new blood vessels grow to allow even more blood to get to the muscle.
If you never exercise, your muscles will not grow. In fact, they will get smaller and eventually almost wither away. You will not even be able to walk or pick anything up. Your body will be almost useless.
The spiritual body needs exercising as well. "But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil" (Hebrews 5:14).
Even if you eat the right kind of spiritual food (meat), if you do not exercise it will not do you any good. Your spiritual muscles will never develop. You will never be able to tell right from wrong. You will not have the ability to work for the Lord. Your spiritual body will wither and become useless. God will be very disappointed with you and will punish you eternally.
So, exercise your spiritual body. Keep reading the Bible and teach it to others. Do good for others. Until next time, keep studying the scriptures. And if any of this is hard to understand, ask an adult to help you.
