Drink in the Rain

We plant a garden every year. We look forward to the time when the vegetables are full grown and we can harvest them. But before we can harvest, the plants must grow. And to grow they must get plenty of water. We rely mostly on rain for our garden to get water.

In some parts of the world it doesn't rain very often. When it finally does rain many plants grow very fast. This is because the ground soaks up the rain very quickly because it is so dry. The plants are very thirsty and drink up the water that the ground soaks up.

We are to be like the garden plants that are thirsty and drink up the rain. In Hebrews 6:7 we read, "For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God." This verse is among others which are talking about the Christian who should study and obey the Word of God, the Bible.

If we will study the Bible (drink up the rain) which God blesses us with and obey it, He will bless us in many ways. But if we do not drink up that rain, then He will curse us (verse 8).

Until next time, keep studying your Bible. And if any of this is hard to understand, ask an adult to help you. Get the wisdom of God.
