Wisdom's Corner
Jehovah ShammahI remember when I was little always looking forward to getting home. If I was down the block playing at a friend's house, I looked forward to getting home. If I was at school, I looked forward to getting home. If I was playing ball at the city park, I looked forward to getting home.
Why did I look forward to getting home? Because I knew my parents were there. I knew that they were waiting on me to get home. As I got older and could stay out later, they were still waiting for me when I got home. It was such a good feeling to know that if I needed them when I got home, they would be there.
Heaven will be like that. God will always be in Heaven. In Ezekiel 48 there is a description of the city of Jerusalem. The physical city of Jerusalem was in some respects representative of heaven. In verse 35 we read, "and the name of the city from that day shall be, The Lord is there." The "Lord is there" is from the Hebrew words "Jehovah Shammah." And when we go to Revelation chapters 21 and 22 we see heaven represented as a city with God always there.
I want to go to heaven. I look forward to being with my Heavenly Father when I get there. I am sure you would like to go there as well. The way to do that is to study His word, the Bible. Then obey what it says for you to do.
Keep reading your Bible. And if any of this is hard to understand, ask an adult to help you.
