Wisdom's Corner
Do Not Be a MuleMules are stubborn animals. It is very difficult to get them to do much of anything at times. One minute they will be doing what you want and the next minute they will just refuse to do anything.
Mules are not very smart either. They do not know why you want them to do something. They have no way of understanding why you want them to do something. You can train them to do things, but you still need to put a bit in their mouth and attach it to a bridle.
The bit is usually a piece of metal that fits inside their mouth. It fits in the back of the mouth and presses against the joint of the jaws. The bridle is usually a piece of leather that attaches to both sides of the bit. The bridle is then pulled from one side to the other to get the mule to turn to the right or the left. The bridle and bit can also be pulled on very hard to get the mule to stop.
God does not want you to be like the mule. In Psalm 32:9 we read, "Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee."
God gave us a brain with which to think. He gave us His word, the Bible, to read. We are to use our brain to understand what He has told us in the Bible. We are to study and think about what God wants us to do. If we do not do this, we are no better in God's eyes than the dumb and stubborn mule.
I know you do not want God to think of you as a stubborn mule. So until next time, keep studying your Bible. And if any of this is hard to understand, ask an adult to help you.
Until next time, keep studying your Bible. And if any of this is hard to understand, ask an adult to help you.
