Wisdom's Corner
The Lost Sheep FoundWhen night comes the shepherd takes his sheep to the sheepfold. He looks at each sheep as it enters the fold. After they are in he will know if there are any missing.
When he finds out that one sheep is missing, he will ask the other shepherds to watch his herd so that he can go out and find the lost sheep. It is after dark and going out can be dangerous. But he wants to find the lost sheep.
He will go back on the trail that he took for the whole day. As he travels he calls for the sheep. He will pass other sheepfolds and shepherds. He will ask these shepherds if they have seen his lost sheep. They always send their blessing that he will find his lost sheep.
When he finally finds the sheep, he will put it over his shoulders and carry it back to the sheepfold. As he passes back by the other shepherds he will tell them that he has found his sheep. All the other shepherds will many times sing a song and rejoice for the rest of the night. They are happy for the other shepherd. They know it could easily have been one of their sheep that was lost.
Jesus says that there is the same type of rejoicing in heaven when one of his lost sheep, a sinner, repents of his sin (Luke 15:3-7). Jesus loves all of his sheep and does not want any to stay lost.
Keep studying your Bible. Learn what you need to know to stay close to Jesus and not be lost. And if any of this is hard to understand, ask an adult to help you.
